Emergencies in towers.
If you phone the emergency services from a church you will be asked for the postcode. On the page for each tower this has now been included with the recommendation that the postcode should be on show in the ringing chamber.
Ledbury district striking competition.
All the towers with members in the district were represented in the competition this year, on June 12th. Ringing was at at Stretton Grandison so that no team had a home advantage. Most teams found the bells difficult to strike well but everyone enjoyed the chance to sit around and chat and to listen to each other’s ringing. Mark Pugh kindly gave up his own practice night to come and judge the event, and we all appreciated the kind things he said about the ringing, and the advice given on improving. The Ledbury band, ringing Stedman doubles, were the clear winners (again!).

New member.
Liz Blake (Clun) was elected at the Church Stretton District quarterly meeting July 19th.
Church Stretton district’s striking competition trophy, the George Randall Trophy, has run out of space to engrave more winners and has been given a permanent home in Bromfield tower.
Good News
Goodrich bells are out and have gone to Taylor’s, and work is starting on a rehang. Look out for more information in the September Open Lead.
